In March and April, Southington police made three arrested for a burglary at Spartan II Restaurant on Feb. 2, 2016. On April 7, police arrested David McCulloch, 36, of Naugatuck. Patrick Tomkus, 35, of Waterbury was arrested on March 17, and Shawn Chandler, 20, of Waterbury was arrested on March 18.

The investigation began on Feb. 2 when the burglar alarm at Spartan II Restaurant, at 930 Meriden-Waterbury Tpk., was triggered at approximately 4:45 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found that a door on the south-side of the building had been forced open. Two cash registers in the bar area and a cash register in the take-out area had been pried open, and an unknown amount of cash was taken.

A Police K-9 track for the suspects was unsuccessful.

Southington detectives took over the investigation and, in collaboration with the Waterbury and Meriden Police Departments, were able to track down the burglars. Each arrestee was presented in the Bristol Court, and their respective warrants were served.

Tomkus and McCulloch were charged with third degree burglary, fifth degree larceny, and fourth degree criminal mischief. Chandler was charged with conspiracy to commit third degree burglary, fifth degree larceny, and fourth degree criminal mischief.

The arrests were processed in court, and there are no mugshots available.
