A Southington man was arrested for throwing items at a woman during an argument. Michael E. Woodcock, 24, of Taunton Street, Southington, was arrested at his residence on May 9 at approximately 3:30 p.m. and transported to police headquarters.
The warrant stemmed from a domestic violence investigation on May 8 when Woodcock and the victim were involved in a verbal argument. The warrant indicates that, during the course of the argument, Woodcock threw an object (believed to be a set of keys) at the victim’s face. The victim put up her hands to protect her face and when she lowered her hands, Woodcock allegedly threw a ceramic bowl at her, striking her in the mouth.
As a result of being struck by the bowl, the victim suffered a broken front tooth and laceration to the lip. She reported facial pain to police and planned to seek medical attention on her own.
Woodcock was processed and charged with second degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was held on a $100,000 bond and given a court appearance for May 10, 2016.
