Police arrested Daniel Brown, 20, of 220 Andrews St. in Southington after being called to his home for a domestic disturbance.
On July 5, at approximately 2:44 p.m., a victim called police believing that Brown was attempting to get into the house while armed with a gun. The victim claimed that Brown had sent text messages threatening to kill her. She also claimed to have received information from a third party that Brown had purchased gasoline and was on his way to the home to burn it down.
Officers located Brown in a parked vehicle a short distance from the home, and he was taken into custody without incident. A search of the vehicle revealed no gun and no gasoline containers.
Brown was arrested and charged with second degree threatening and second degree breach of peace. He was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond and transported to court later that day.
