A New Britain man was taken into custody by Torrington police after a traffic stop revealed an open arrest warrant in Southington. Robert J. Street, 36, was taken into custody by Torrington police at approximately 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 30 and transported to the Southington Police Headquarters, booked, and processed.
The warrant alleges that Street used the ATM card of a family member to make fraudulent ATM transactions without the family member’s permission or knowledge. The transactions took place at various locations between May 8, 2016 and May 23, 2016. There were a total of eight fraudulent transactions totaling $899.50.
Street was charged by Southington police with fifth degree larceny, credit card theft, and fraudulent use of an ATM. He was released on a $5,000 bond and given a court date in Bristol for Aug. 8, 2016.
