Police investigate robberies from local businesses

Police are investigating two commercial robberies in Southington believed to be committed by the same suspect and vehicle.

The first incident occurred on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m., at the Subway Restaurant located at 915 Meriden Waterbury Tpk. The second incident happened on Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m., at M&R Liquors located at 920 Queen St.

In both cases, the suspect was described as a white male in his mid-20s, approximately 6 feet tall, 180-200 pounds, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, a light colored baseball cap with logo, jeans and black and white sneakers.

The suspect entered both businesses with a camouflage bag, approached the clerk, and demanded cash.  No weapon was displayed. The suspect was seen fleeing the area in what is believed to be a dark colored Nissan 370Z style vehicle.
