Southington police announced over 90 citations during the recent Click It or Ticket mobilizations from Nov. 21 through Nov. 28. During a seven day campaign, local police stopped 166 motor vehicles and cited 93 people with seatbelt violations or driving violations.
“The annual Click it or Ticket mobilization may be over, but that is no excuse to stop using your seat belt,” police officials said in a press release. “Law enforcement officers are out all year long. If you or your passengers are caught not wearing a seat belt at any time, day or night, you will be cited for the safety violation.”
During the enforcement period, police cited 38 motorists for seatbelt violations, along with eight cell phone violations, 7 speeding violations, one uninsured motor vehicle, and 39 other traffic violations. There were an additional 60 written warnings and 13 verbal warnings during gthis timeframe for various violations.
