A former intern at Southington High School was arrested and charged with providing alcohol to a minor.
On Friday, Feb. 28, Steven F. Bucchieri, 26, of Meriden, was taken into custody without incident.
Bucchieri was charged with violation of CGS 30-86, Sale or Delivery of Alcohol to a Minor stemming from an incident that took place on October 31, 2013, while Bucchieri was assigned as an intern at Southington High School.
According to police, Bucchieri supplied a 15 year old SHS student with alcohol in October 2013. After receiving the alcohol, the student took it to a party later that night.
There was no physical relationship reported between the student and Bucchieri. During the investigation Bucchieri was placed on leave and he is no longer an intern at SHS.
The Southington Police began the investigation after the student spoke with a school administrator about the incident, who in turn notified the police.
Bucchieri posted a $10,000 court set cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in Bristol Court on March 10.
