A local teenager was arrested on burglary charges, stemming from a previous theft of house keys.
On Saturday, July 5, at 1:40 a.m., a resident at 185 Old Turnpike Rd., second floor, called police and stated that he believed someone was trying to enter his home using a key. The resident told police that someone had broken into his car a few days prior, stealing a set of keys.
Arriving on the scene, police located
, 19, attempting to enter a bottom floor window where he had removed an air conditioner. Baker was taken into custody without incident.
During the investigation, police found several more keys in Baker’s possession, including the set stolen from the complainant’s car.
Baker was charged with second degree burglary, two counts of criminal attempt, third degree criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools. Bond was set at $75,000 with a July 7 court date.
