Animal Control is looking for a 100 pound lab/boxer mix that attacked a pet on Deer Run on Monday, March 28.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., Edward Hayes of 124 Deer Run report that his Yorkshire terrier was attacked by another dog while it was in his back yard. Hayes said a large black dog with tan streaks ran into his back yard and started to attack his Yorkshire.

He ran over and separated the dogs, and the large dog fled. But Hayes’ dog was killed as a result of the attack.

Hayes told police that he did not recognize the dog from the neighborhood or area.  He described it as possibly a lab/boxer type mix weighing over 100 pounds.  The Animal Control officer has been leading a continuous effort to indentify the dog, but neither the dog nor its owner has been identified.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the dog pound at (860) 628-8053.
