Jared Martin
Bail enforcement agents turned a local man over to police on Aug. 5, at 6 p.m., for three active warrants. Jared Martin, 36, of Southington, was processed and charged for multiple actions between May and June in 2006.
The first warrant alleges that between May 2016 and June 8, 2006, Martin burglarized a storage garage on East Summer Street that was owned by the Town of Southington. The burglary involved a large quantity of miscellaneous electrical items and equipment that the town uses for various festivals and events throughout the year.
Martin was found to have “scrapped” the items that were reported missing at a local scrap dealer. The scrapped items were valued at $13,686.
The second warrant stemmed from a domestic violence investigation at Martin’s residence on June 10, 2016. The warrant alleges that, during the incident, Martin followed the victim through the residence yelling and screaming for money. In fear, the victim locked themselves in a room. Martin began to bang on the door, and the Victim called 911. Martin fled the scene prior to Police arrival.
The third warrant alleges that Martin failed to appear in court on July 6, 2016 for charges of third degree burglary and violation of probation.
Police charged him with third degree burglary and second degree larceny for the first warrant with a $1,500 bond. He was charged with disorderly conduct for the second warrant with a $2,500 bond set. For the third warrant, he was charged with first degree failure to appear with a $25,000 bond.
Martin was held in lieu of an appearance date of Aug. 8, 2016 at Bristol Court G.A. 17.
