Brooklyn man charged with using illegal credit cards at Target

Southington Police recently arrested a Brooklyn man on charges of identity theft and illegal use of credit cards at Target last December.

Stephen Stanley, 28, of last known address, 2361 Pacific St., Apt. 3A, Brooklyn, NY, was arrested on March 20.

According to police, Stanley entered the Southington Target store on December 4, 2013 and completed 25 fraudulent transactions, using six different credit cards to purchase $1,705 in Target and American Express gift cards.

The incident was captured on surveillance and Stanley was later identified as the suspect in the investigation.

Stanley was arrested by Connecticut State Police Troop G on December 7, 2013. According to Troop G, Stanley was found with over 100 stolen credit cards and gift cards.

Troop G assisted Southington Police with the investigation once the arrest was determined to be related to the Southington case.

Stanley was charged with fourth degree larceny, six counts of third degree identity theft and six counts of illegal use of a credit card. Bond was set at $50,000.
