New Britain man charged with Center Street shooting

Southington Police have arrested a New Britain man in connection to a shooting in a parking lot near Center Street over the weekend.
In the early morning hours of Sunday, March 23, police responded to a 911 call and upon arrival found a 22-year-old male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the body. The shooter, later identified as Jesus Morales Jr., had fled the scene.
Police arrested Morales, 30, of 154 Long Swamp Rd., New Britain, near his home without incident on Monday, March 24. He was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, first degree assault and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
Morales appeared in Bristol Superior Court on Monday, March 24. He was held on a $1 million bond.
His next court date is set for April 9 at New Britain Superior Court.
