Southington police responded to an anonymous complaint about underage drinking, and the investigation led to the arrest of April Cheney, 49, of Southington for violating Connecticut’s social hosting law.

On April 29, at 10:25 p.m., police received the complaint about an underage party at 25 Burwell Ave. Upon arrival, officers found evidence of drinking games, alcohol consumption, and marijuana use. Officers found several teenagers inside the house and their ages ranged from 14 to 17 years old.

All of the teenagers that were found at the party were picked up by parents or guardians. The homeowner, Cheney, was present at the time.

Cheney was issued a misdemeanor summons for social hosting—permitting minor(s) to possess alcohol. She was given a court date of May 5, 2016 at the Bristol Court.
