Ashley Villafane, 28, of Bristol was transported to Southington by the Connecticut State Police on Aug. 26 at approximately 11:15 a.m. She was arrested for an active warrant from the Southington police.

The warrant stems from a shoplifting investigation at the Queen Street Walmart on April 5, 2016. The warrant alleges that Villafane and an accomplice, Shawna Carrara, entered the pharmacy area of the store. As they walked around the pharmacy, they placed store merchandise into large pocketbooks and then left the store without attempting to pay for the merchandise that they had concealed.

It was reported that 18 boxes of Nicorette Gum products ($932.64 value) and 10 Sonicare Toothbrushes ($186.70) were taken during the incident. Total value of the thefts is $1119.34. Carrara was arrested for this incident on July 20, 2016 at the Bristol Court and had an appearance date of Aug. 1, 2016.

Villafane was charged with fourth degree larceny and held on a $2,500 bond. She was scheduled to appear in the Bristol Court on Aug. 29, 2016.
